Some Blog Post Type Substance

Things have been crazy.

When I started this blog I was working a job I didn’t like all that much as a sales writer for a dysfunctional web development firm and really needed an escape. I was less than a year out of college. I had just failed in my applications to graduate school. I didn’t really know what to do with life.

I got a new job in early summer as a web developer and things started to improve drastically. The company culture was amazing. My relationship with my girlfriend solidified. I was doing work I found interesting because it was fresh and new. Fall came and I got my applications out for ten different schools. Hell, I even got into two, and my future may be as a student in Chicago or Boston.

In the interim my company had a mini-apocalypse in January and laid off half its staff. I survived because the company president had faith in me to perhaps make him some money at his side business and create my own side business as an online marketing specialist.

Splendid, simply. Simply splendid.

So I’ve gone headfirst into the online marketing world and it’s just about endlessly fascinating. I purchased a membership with Perry Marshall and The Third Tribe , the first of which has already given me some expertise that has impressed my clients. My activities at work have been making people significant money and keeping everyone very happy. It’s one of those things that feels right.

Poetry feels right too.

I’m going to figure out a way to make this all work. You’re probably going to see the nature of this blog shift a bit to include more of these kinds of updates. It will still be mostly about the poems, but it will also be some more musing type substances too. It may even involve some sports talk.

I’ve realized that being a generalist like I am really isn’t a bad thing if I can get into the right situation. I’m young and flexibility isn’t a problem. I’ll find that situation.

Carpe Diem, go blue, and if you think you’ve got a great idea, prove it or I don’t care. Here’s to proving.
